THE MORNING RUNDOWN 👇
Fox Factory Holding Corp., the Nasdaq-listed company behind Fox Racing suspension, just completed a $225 million sale of Marucci Sports, the Baton Rouge baseball and softball equipment maker. A management-led group called Squared Up Holdings is taking the brand private again. What the closing cash went to, and how much of the price is still sitting as a note, are the details that define the structure.
Leander, Texas, just cleared a letter of intent for a privately financed sports complex on about 40 acres of city land near its Northline development. CenTex Sports, led by Adrian Chapa, is pitching a first phase near $55 million with a full buildout path locally described as approaching $100 million. Whether that LOI becomes a Chapter 380 with clawbacks is the next vote that matters.
Under Armour just signed a global licensing deal with SYZMIK Sports to put Under Armour branding on soft-shell protective headgear for flag football and 7v7. SYZMIK manufactures the gear; Under Armour will distribute it direct-to-consumer and wholesale worldwide. Neither side disclosed terms, and how far the line reaches into youth leagues before LA28 is the open piece.
USA Lacrosse named iHeartMedia, the Nasdaq-listed audio company, as its Official Audio Media Partner, and gave it jersey branding rights on U.S. Youth National Teams. The deal covers 144 athletes, and USA Lacrosse says iHeart is the first brand with those jersey rights. The dollars were not disclosed, and what the audio inventory actually looks like is still off the page.

THE BIG PLAY
This Week’s Biggest Move
⚾ The Winning Bid for Marucci Came From People Already Inside

On September 25, Fox Factory Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: FOXF), the publicly traded company best known for Fox Racing suspension products, completed the sale of Marucci Sports, its Baton Rouge baseball and softball equipment business, to Squared Up Holdings, LLC, a management-led investor group, for $225 million in enterprise value. Fox said closing cash proceeds were applied to debt reduction. Marucci stays based in Baton Rouge under its existing leadership.
Most of the coverage led with the $225 million price and the return to private ownership. Two other facts say more about what changed hands. Fox put Marucci into a strategic review in February 2026 after running a wide buyer process, and the winning bid came from people already inside the business rather than a strategic apparel buyer or a private-equity roll-up. Marucci's core end market is youth and amateur baseball and softball, so what changed hands is a diamond-sports equipment brand whose buyers are reclaiming it from a public industrial parent.
🎯 WHY THIS MATTERS
The Cash Went to the Balance Sheet Closing delivered $200 million in cash that Fox applied to debt reduction rather than a new youth-sports purchase. The $25 million convertible note remains due by December 31, 2026, so part of the $225 million enterprise value has not cleared the books yet.
Management Bought the Brand Back Squared Up Holdings is a management-led group that includes current and former Major League Baseball players, by Fox's announcement and reporting from The Advocate. The announced buyer is that investor group, and Marucci stays under its existing leadership in Baton Rouge. How that ownership list is built remains thin on the page.
The Process Size Was the Tell Fox's February 2026 strategic review contacted about 80 potential acquirers and drew 15 indications of interest before Squared Up won. A sale that wide still landed with the people already running the brand. What that says about strategic-buyer appetite is the open read.
The Bottom Line: Fox is exiting diamond-sports equipment after a formal review and using the cash to cut debt, while Marucci returns to private, Baton Rouge-based control under the people who already ran it. The convertible note still outstanding through December 31, 2026, and what Squared Up does with a youth-and-amateur-heavy bat brand off a public balance sheet, are the questions the close leaves open.
MARKET MOVERS
This Week's Deals & Dollars
🏟️ The $55 Million Sports Complex in Leander Is Still Only an LOI
On September 17, the City of Leander, Texas, approved a letter of intent with CenTex Sports, a private developer led by Adrian Chapa, for a sports complex on about 40 acres of city-owned land at 204 Heritage Grove Road. Community Impact reported Phase 1 private investment near $55 million, with a full buildout path potentially approaching $100 million, covering indoor space, a covered track, beach volleyball, and soccer fields. No Chapter 380 agreement has closed, and whether clawbacks and construction deadlines stick is the question the LOI leaves open.
⚽ A 100,000-Player Soccer Network Named PlayMetrics Its Membership Software
On September 14, SAY Soccer (Soccer Association for Youth, USA), a national recreational soccer membership organization, named PlayMetrics, a youth sports operations software company, as its membership platform. SAY cites more than 100,000 players across about 400 organizations in 37 states moving registration, rosters, scheduling, game-day workflows, and communication onto the platform. Neither side disclosed terms, and the announcement does not name a go-live season. How far PlayMetrics extends its post-SportsEngine consolidation into recreational soccer networks is the open question.
🎧 USA Lacrosse Puts iHeartMedia on Youth National Team Jerseys
On September 22, USA Lacrosse, the national governing body for lacrosse in the United States, named iHeartMedia (NASDAQ: IHRT), the publicly traded audio company, as its Official Audio Media Partner. USA Lacrosse says the deal also makes iHeart the first brand with jersey branding rights on U.S. Youth National Teams, covering 144 athletes, and presents it on the Atlas Cup, Brogden Cup, and Hall of Fame Induction. Terms were undisclosed. What the audio inventory and jersey placement actually deliver ahead of lacrosse's LA28 Olympic return is the question the partnership leaves open.
